Düzensiz sıfatlar, İngilizcede karşılaştırma yapılırken düzenli eklentiler (-er, -est) yerine tamamen farklı kelimeler kullanılan sıfatlardır. Örneğin “good” sıfatının karşılaştırma hali “better” ve en üstünlük hali “best” tir. İşte bazı düzensiz sıfatlara ait cümle örnekleri:
1. Good – Better – Best
– This book is good, but that one is better.
– Of all the movies we’ve seen, this one is the best.
2. Bad – Worse – Worst
– This road is bad, but that one is even worse.
– Of all the choices, this is the worst.
3. Far – Farther/Further – Farthest/Furthest
– He can jump far, but his brother can jump even farther.
– Of all the athletes, she ran the furthest.
4. Little – Less – Least
– She has little interest in math, but even less in science.
– He has the least motivation of anyone I know.
5. Many/Much – More – Most
– I have much respect for her, but I have even more for her sister.
– He has the most energy of all the players.
