Gerunds ve infinitives, İngilizce’de sık kullanılan yapılar arasında yer alır ve genellikle fiil köklerinin sonuna eklenen “-ing” (gerund) veya “to” (infinitive) takıları ile oluşturulur. İşte her iki yapıyı içeren cümle örnekleri:
